Art Medium: Theater and Performing ArtsPartner: Sega Girls Secondary School Location: Morogoro, Tanzania

Artist: Jemima Kakizy

Girls in Sauti ya Dada club at SEGA secondary school Morogoro in Tanzania used theater, poem, and song to educate their school community about peer pressure. Together with their mentor and a local mural artist, the girls unpacked the issue of peer pressure to identify the root causes and ways they and other girls could better manage peer pressure situations. The girls designed messages on the impact of peer pressure to raise awareness amongst their peers at a final school presentation.
