Support CAI's 2017 Annual Appeal, help light up the world!
Each of us has an important role to play in lighting up the world. Your investment in CAI’s work to train creative leaders and support grassroots advocacy efforts has a powerful ripple effect. Together we are nurturing the kind of leaders this world needs, leaders who will build an inclusive, collaborative, just and sustainable world. We are honored to count you as a supporter and hope you will consider giving this holiday season.
In 2017 CAI conducted 17 trainings with 317 leaders that resulted in 204 community-based projects in 9 countries that ultimately reached 624,000 people. This year, CAI-trained leaders have used arts-based tools to successfully increase girls’ enrollment in school, reduce teen pregnancies, combat child marriage, reduce instances of FGM, improve access to sexual and reproductive health services, develop inclusive forest and water management plans, and halted mining in a forest reserve.
Impact Stories from the Field
Stay tuned for more stories from the field that show the profound impact you have when you support CAI.
Evalyne: Advocating to keep girls in school
Evalyne is a 17-year-old high school student. Known as Eve to her friends, she lives in Soweto, one of the largest urban slums in Kenya - where opportunities for young women are few. When Eve was given the opportunity to attend the five-day East African Girls' Leadership Summit led by CAI, in collaboration with AMPLIFY, she jumped at the chance. Her experience was transformative.
Sandra: Standing Against Gender-based Violence
Sandra has lived in the vibrant Caribbean coastal town of Puerto Barrios, Guatemala her entire life, and she is making an incredible impact in her community, thanks to your support. During the four years, we have known Sandra, she has enthusiastically participated in multiple CAI Creative Leadership workshops, skill-building clinics, and CAI community art projects. She credits a CAI-inspired workshop for triggering a national case against child marriage.
